Ice Towers at the Whitehorse Waterfont

Programs: Experienced and friendly staff will introduce you to the unique and fascinating experience of climbing on frozen water. The ice wall presents a variety of opportunities and challenges in a beautiful location. Please call to discuss times, dates and options.

Ice Hike:
* 1.5hrs. $45pp (max 6) + gst
* This introductory ice adventure takes you on a guided tour of our dramatic ice formations. Using crampons and safety equipment, follow your guide along an ice path of traverses, bridges and tunnels to the top of the ice towers (60 feet high). Includes all equipment, safety briefing and warm space for gearing up. For ages 6 and older.

Ice Hike & Climb:
* 2.5hrs. $75pp (max 6) + gst
* A more in-depth program where participants practice footwork on the ice hike, then learn to use ice axes and rope to climb the ice towers. Your friendly guide will lead you through the basics of this unique winter activity. Includes all equipment, instruction and warm space for gearing up. For ages 10 and older. Ice Climbing 101:
* Full Day $150pp (max 6) + gst
* For those with little or no ice climbing experience, this course includes all gear, technical instruction, warm-up area and belay review. Designed for people intending to climb on their own. For ages 12 and older.

Ice Climbing Day Pass: (Previous experience required)
* $15
* Unguided: Belayers must be age 16+ and pass test.
* Gear Rental $10/item, $25/package

  • Sunglasses or Goggles (eye protection from ice chips)
  • Sunscreen
  • Camera
  • Towel & Swimsuit for Hot Springs

* Ice climbing crampons (pointy bits on your feet) require a special toe and heel attachment to your boots. We have a limited supply of climbing boots, so please call ahead to check for availability and sizing. Bringing your own (or borrowing) ski, mountaineering or stiff hiking boots is recommended.
