Come play on the ice!

You don’t have to be a hardcore athlete to try the Ice Tower Tour. You will get a chance to climb the Ice Towers with ice axes and crampons, and you can also explore the ice caves, walk around the tower with ice trekkers, and try the zipline. Depending on the day, we may even have a campfire and storytelling.

The Ice Tower Tour is a fun thing to do in Whitehorse. If you happen to be visiting the Yukon, you will want to check this fun activity off your list.

Your fully guided tour includes all the gear and equipment you will need, instruction on ice climbing technique, and optional dad jokes.

Time: 2 hrs

When: Tours are available daily from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM for groups of two or more. Single bookings will be grouped with existing booked tours.

Price per person: $169

Group of 4: $149 /person

Included: All gear including boots, crampons, ice axes, and friendly guide 😊.

What to bring: Dress warm and bring your inner explorer.

Where: Ice Towers are located at Mt Sima Ski Hill. Go to the ski rental shop downstairs to meet your host, gear up, and have a short safety briefing. The distance from the shop to the Ice Towers is a short 100 metre walk.

What: You don’t need to be a climber to try ice climbing. Your guide will go over basic techniques with you and do a demonstration. All climbing is done on ropes with a qualified guide belaying you. Spend as long as you like to feel comfortable with the movement. If you are feeling more adventurous, have a go at ascending the tower. Prizes for climbers who reach the summit!

					  Great time for Families! - Just spent and excellent afternoon with Equinox climbing the towers at Mt. Sima, Whitehorse. We were three kids ages 10, 12, and 15. Adults had a hoot watching, this time.... read more Kids were all busy doing something for the whole two hours. A great introduction to ice climbing and ziplining!

					  An incredible adventure!  - If you're a climber and have always wanted to try climbing a frozen waterfall, THIS IS YOUR CHANCE! 

Chris, owner/guide, picked me up in downtown Whitehorse early in... read more the morning with shoes to fit for the full-day of climbing. We then headed down to Carcross to pick up a guide from my previous trip (Boreal Kennels -- check them out as well!!) and off to our first adventuring spot. This was our "warm up spot" but still a challenge. 

We took a break for lunch in Carcross and made our way out to White Mountain for another awesome climb up a waterfall that was between 30-50 feet. 

A few things to note: 

1. Chris runs several camps for kids and you can tell that he is GREAT with kids. 

2. You are safe. You are 100000000% safe in his hands. There have been many times I climbed with a terrible belayer and was terrified for my life. With Chris, not a chance. I slipped countless times and I didn't drop more than an inch (maybe I did but it never, ever felt like it). 

3. He will help you, encourage you, and challenge you. And it's exciting. 

Do this trip. I mean it. You won't regret it -- even if it's -30 degrees, it's worth it.
